Investment Accountant

Impact Fund Denmark

Would you like to play a central role in ensuring high-quality accounting across an international investment portfolio operating in developing markets?

As Investment Accountant at Impact Fund Denmark, you will work closely with the investment team and gain direct insight into how investments are structured, executed and managed. Your work will ensure accuracy, transparency and a strong financial foundation for the portfolio.

About the position

Reporting to Head of Accounting you will become part of a dedicated Accounting team responsible for daily accounting operations, reporting and financial control for both Impact Fund Denmark and the funds managed by Impact Fund Denmark.

This is a hands-on role with responsibility for investment accounting in close collaboration with the investment team and controllers. You will help ensure that transactions, disbursements and reporting are handled accurately and in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. At the same time, you will have the chance to contribute to develop and strengthen processes as the function continues to evolve.

What makes this role unique is the combination of operational responsibility and an opportunity for long-term development. You will join a finance function on a growth journey, with increasing capital under management and an ambition to modernize and streamline processes over time.

Your primary tasks

· Maintain accurate financial records related to investment activities

· Handle incoming and outgoing payments linked to investment transactions

· Oversee and process disbursements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

· Reconcile investment accounts and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements

· Review and approve contracts in line with organizational policies

· Ensure quality and accuracy of data across investment-related systems and reports

· Support audits by preparing documentation and relevant analyses

· Contribute to monthly and quarterly reporting

· Support preparation of the annual report

· Participate in ongoing improvements of workflows, controls and processes

Who are you?

You hold a relevant educational background within finance/accounting or a similar field and bring at least three years of experience within accounting, preferably from an investment or financial services environment.

You are comfortable working hands-on with daily accounting tasks and understand how details connect to the broader financial picture. You take ownership of your work and thrive in a structured environment where quality matters.

You understand accounting processes end-to-end and if you have an interest in improving workflows and controls, this is considered a big plus. Also, experience with financial products or more complex instruments, such as swaps, including bookkeeping and dialogue around the correct accounting treatment is an advantage, but not a requirement.

You are familiar with working in Microsoft, especially Excel and Teams.

As a colleague, you are collaborative, dependable and motivated by being part of a professional team where people support each other.

Strong English skills and a global mindset are essential.
